Get started with discounted FedEx shipping

Guide To Discounted Shipping

Welcome to Excelerate America’s discounted FedEx shipping program, where collective members save significantly on FedEx Express and FedEx Ground without sacrificing confidence, consistency or customer support. This guide covers everything you need to get started–from setting up your account to scheduling pickups, managing your shipping, reducing costs with free packaging, and more.

Make sure you’re enrolled

If you haven’t already completed your FedEx Advantage account registration, you’ll need to go to our partner page to get started. There you’ll click on the orange “Enroll and save” button to fill out enrollment forms. You’ll either create a new FedEx account or connect your existing account number. Then you’ll receive an email in 7-10 business days when your discounted pricing is set up and ready.

Shipping 101

Make the most of Multiweight option

FedEx offers efficient and cost-effective pricing options if you frequently ship multiple packages to the same location. When you activate Multiweight on your account, rating logic (and lower pricing) is applied automatically. You get a tracking number for each individual package, and if you create all the shipments at the same time, you get a master tracking number for the combined shipment, too.

Control inbound shipping costs

To reduce order costs, don’t let your inbound small packages be arranged by vendors. Instead, use FedEx's Vendor Enablement Program to allow your vendors to ship through your account. You'll have greater financial control and enhanced shipment visibility. Talk directly to your account representative to set up the program.

Integrate your ecommerce platform

FedEx has extensive support for managing your ecommerce business. They offer an in-depth look into turnkey and customized ecommerce solutions, a playbook on marketing strategy, and instructions on integrating shipping software with your ecommerce platform. Find these tools, tips and resources at FedEx’s ecommerce services page

✍️ Collective Tip: Check out FedEx’s unique resource for businesses looking to economize on shipping by visiting their Small Business Center for the latest insights and solutions from fellow entrepreneurs and experts.

Managing deliveries for you and your customers

Entrepreneur managing FedEx deliveries on mobile device

It’s essential to stay informed and keep track of packages throughout the delivery process. FedEx provides delivery notifications available via email, text, phone, mobile app (including virtual doorbell chime), or a combination. If needed, deliveries can also be redirected to thousands of secure retail pickup locations. To learn more about how to best manage shipments and give your customers control over their deliveries, check out FedEx’s video resources covering tracking, returns, redirects and more.

View critical shipment data with FedEx® Reporting

FedEx® Reporting is a great data tool to get a handle on your shipments. It’s a web-based application that enables you to request, view and download reports. You can check the status of current report requests, schedule weekly and/or monthly reports, and invite other registered users to access your accounts. All data in FedEx® Reporting reflects shipments that have been invoiced. Learn more about this service and how to sign up for free on the FedEx® Reporting page

Don’t forget to take advantage of free packaging

FedEx has complimentary packaging for shipments using FedEx expedited, FedEx Express Saver or FedEx International Economy services. You can reduce shipping costs with free boxes, peanuts, mailers and more. FedEx also provides multiple how-to-pack videos covering topics like reducing waste, packing tips, and step-by-step demos for packing and labeling. You can find these videos and more packing guides on their website.
