How our GPO saved businesses money in 2024

It’s a new year and Q1 has just kicked off, which means it’s time to check in on how Excelerate America’s group purchasing organization (GPO) saved together in 2024. In this report, we’ll take a look at the numbers, offer strategic ways to save more, and highlight how our GPO has evolved to better serve members this past year.  

GPO saved smarter together

Let’s start with the big picture numbers. The GPO’s total spend and total amount of orders remains consistent as members continue to use our buying programs to purchase the supplies they need. By purchasing smarter together, we were able to collectively save over $12M for our businesses. 🎉🎉🎉

Membership growth made us stronger

The Excelerate America GPO continued to grow in 2024. As new businesses joined us, our negotiating power with vendors got stronger. Our membership hailed from all across the country and spanned multiple industries. Here are the top 10 industries that purchased supplies and saved through our buying programs:

ODP Business Solutions buying program

Our offices supplies buying program through ODP Business Solutions was the program used most often by members this year. That’s no surprise because it offers discounted supplies across a wide variety of categories. So what are members buying the most?

Shopping the Core List saved members the most

What’s the best way to save through the ODP Business Solutions buying program? Shopping on the Core List. That’s because we’ve negotiated deep discounts on top-selling items our members buy the most. Out of this year’s total items purchased by the GPO, only 27% came from the Core List. That’s a lot of missed savings! 💸

Dell Technologies buying program

We’ve partnered with Dell Technologies for over 6 years to grow a remarkable technology buying program. In 2024, 641 new members joined this program. Together our members placed 6.5k+ tech orders and saved up to 45% off on exclusive promos. We also celebrated Small Business Month by giving away Dell tech products and $3k to deserving small businesses in our GPO! 💚

Discounted FedEx shipping program

In its first year, our discounted FedEx shipping program skyrocketed in popularity. GPO members spent $53.6k on shipments, saving significantly on every order. This program offers between 30%-50% off on all FedEx shipping, so it’s a fantastic deal for any business that sends or receives shipments. Members also enjoy the additional savings of free packaging through this program! 💰📦

In 2024, members took advantage of our Benefits program by accessing software, tools, and services that worked for them. That’s the beauty of this program: pick what you want when you need it, and always stay on budget. The most popular benefit was Quickbooks, the top rated accounting software for businesses. Saving up to 50% off while streamlining finances proved to be a win win! 🏆

Dashboard updates

We’re always looking for ways to better serve our GPO members. In 2024, we updated your member dashboard so it’s easier to view current promotions and access savings opportunities. If you haven’t already, log in to see the latest news and deals happening in your buying programs. Your updated dashboard also includes My Profile where you can manage your account info, and a Help Center, where you can view FAQ and access customer support.
